The Audio-Technica AT4040 is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone designed for professional studio and live applications. It features an externally polarized (DC bias) true condenser design with a technically advanced large diaphragm, providing smooth, natural sonic characteristics. The AT4040 offers exceptionally low noise, a wide dynamic range, and high SPL capability, making it versatile for various recording scenarios. Its transformerless circuitry virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion and provides superior correlation of high-speed transients.
