Audio-Technica ATM450 is a cardioid condenser instrument microphone with a distinctive side-address stick design that provides flexible positioning in locations where a traditional end-address pencil microphone can be difficult to place. Designed for professional live sound and studio applications, it is especially useful for drum overheads, percussion, acoustic guitar, strings, and other acoustic instruments.
The ATM450 features a switchable 80Hz high-pass filter for reducing unwanted low-frequency noise and a 10dB pad for handling higher sound-pressure levels. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the intended instrument by reducing sound arriving from the sides and rear, while the compact all-metal body makes it practical for crowded stages, drum kits, piano setups, and other tight microphone placements.
The microphone operates on 11–52V phantom power and includes the Audio-Technica AT8471 isolation clamp, threaded adapter, windscreen, and protective pouch.
