The Intellivox DS280 is a self-powered loudspeaker array featuring sixteen custom-designed 4-inch loudspeakers arranged according to a patented beam-shaping algorithm. The system is powered by an eight-channel Class-D amplifier and a switched-mode power supply. It provides a constant sound pressure level over distances up to 35 meters, with potential for extended range under favorable acoustic conditions. The array includes surveillance functions compliant with Voice Alarm system requirements.

The unit's beam steering, audio processing, presets, and surveillance features are controllable via proprietary WinControl software. The compact length of the array supports installation in environments with architectural constraints. The frequency response at low frequencies can be extended by integrating with a JBL subwoofer system.
